Whitewater Kayaking Clinics

If you were a beginner whitewater kayaker last summer, this summer you are probably ready to step it up a notch! We have come up with the perfect plan for you to improved your paddling skills with our seasoned veteran instructors. We have two new kayak clinics as well as a 4 day down river kayak trip on the Lower Klamath River where you can put your skills to the test. These clinics and down river trip are for advanced beginner paddlers only. You must be proficient in the Eskimo roll to participate. The roll insures that class time is spent on learning playboating skills and not chasing swimmers down the river.

WHITEWATER KAYAKING PLAYBOATING CLINIC

Spend a half day with one of our instructors at one of our favorite park and play spots. The play spot and the river are all water flow dependent. You will learn the skills to get you in and out of the hole or wave and how to roll back up once you are flipped. This is an exciting and challenging course to get you on your way to a great day of play!

• Our kayak classes are small and fill quickly so sign up early. (4:1 student to instructor ratio)

ROLL CLINICS

If you already have a kayak roll but need to brush up on your skills or perfect this dynamic move, this is the class for you. Show up for class prepared to work on the little nuances that make the Eskimo roll such a challenging skill. Work on hand and body positioning, the sweep roll, the C to C roll, and the head raise. Our instructors will work with you and practice, practice, practice. If it's time to get it right, now's your chance to do it!

ROLL CLINIC

• Class Length: 1.5 hours
• Cost: $25.00
• Must be an experienced roller looking to perfect this skill. No beginners.

LOWER KLAMATH 3 DAY KAYAK TRIP

Learn the skills you need to safely whitewater kayak down the Lower Klamath River. This 3 day kayak trip will include instruction, transportation, and meals from lunch the first day to lunch the last. An Eskimo Roll is required and you must have Advanced Beginner skills. Check our calendar for trip dates in July and August.

3 DAY KAYAK TRIP

• Class Length: 3 Days
• Cost: $499.00
• Must have a roll and be an Advanced Beginner whitewater kayaker.

Out of our control: A 5% BLM/USFS river usage fee will be added to the cost of all kayak lessons except for the Roll Clinic.

River trips and kayak lessons are not without inherent risks. Kokopelli River Center cannot assume responsibility for injury to raft / kayak / rental participants or loss of personal property. You will be required to sign a waiver and release prior to your trip.
