River kayaking: Level 2

Kokopelli’s Level II: Advanced Beginning Kayaking class is the next step beyond being just a "beginning kayaker" in your whitewater kayaking education. The Level II class is geared to reviewing what you know in a whitewater kayak and building and expanding on that knowledge. Kokopelli's Level II class is a step up from Level I and includes two full days spent on the Klamath River learning river running techniques and more advanced beginner skills of whitewater kayaking.

  • Whitewater Kayaking classes for advanced beginners
  • River Kayaking Level 1 experience required
  • Small class sizes (4:1 student to instructor ratio)
  • Safety is our number one priority
  • Affordable way to get in to whitewater kayaking
  • American Canoe Association certified instructors

See calendar for current class schedule.

Whitewater Kayaking River Sessions

Spend two full days on the Klamath River with Kokopelli River Guides kayak school. We'll work on your existing whitewater kayaking skills and progress beyond the beginning stages of whitewater kayaking. Kokopelli River Guides’ ACA certified instructors help fine-tune your existing kayaking skills and focus on water reading, advanced ferry moves, specific kayak placement within the river, basic playboating, and the kayak roll. A complete roll class is integrated into the Level II lesson for those who need a refresher, or if needed, we can start from scratch. If you already know how to roll a whitewater kayak, your instructor will help you put it to use in a “combat” situation.

Level 2 can be done in conjunction with Level I Beginning Kayaking or can be taken separately. This class is a great way to advance your skills and confidence quickly and easily. Kokopelli’s Level I: Beginning Kayaking class is a prerequisite for the Level II kayak lesson, an equivalent class from another ACA kayak school or previous whitewater kayaking experience. Our class sizes are small, so you are guaranteed lots of personalized attention.
