Sea Kayaking Skills

Have you ever imagined paddling across a peaceful alpine lake or cruising gracefully in your sleek touring kayak across the surface of a remote bay toward a secluded island, or exploring quiet and remote rivers? Kayak touring is the fastest growing style of kayaking, so come learn what the buzz is all about! Sea Kayaking Skills will get you started on your way to a lifetime of adventure!

Learn to paddle a sea kayak and open water rescue skills

Kayak Touring Skills is the next step from our Recreational Kayaking Skills course and beginners are welcome to start out with the Kayak Touring Skills course. The class is held at Emigrant Lake just a short drive from our River Center in Ashland, Oregon. Learn basic kayak touring skills that will teach you how to safely access pristine high mountain lakes and open water. Our half day Sea Kayaking Basics course will teach you kayak touring basics and go more in depth into kayak rescue and introduce kayak navigation. All equipment is provided and no previous kayak experience is required
